Disneyland Parc
Its been a while since I have done a post like this but I recently went to Disneyland Paris and thought it was only fitting that I do posts about the 2 theme parks in Disneyland Paris, I will not be doing a post about the Disney Village.
Step One- Arrival
There are 3 ways that people from the UK can get to DLP. They are train, plane and Euro Tunnel. We used the Euro Tunnel. it is a 3 hrs drive from the Euro Tunnel to DLP but it is a great way to travel as you do not have the worry of carriage space or baggage allowance.
There is a car park for people who are staying off the property or are locals. I have used this car park in the past it is a decent car park. Security has moved from previous years, it is now in the park entrance to the car park and at the end of the lagoon for the 3 main hotels around the lake. I do not know where security is for the 2 hotels further from the lake.
Hotels
There are 6 hotels in DLP they are The Disneyland Hotel, Sequoia Lodge, Hotel New York, Newport Bay, Cheyenne and Santa Fe. I stayed in the Sequoia Lodge Hotel.
As far as security goes you just put your bags into a scanner and you go through a metal detector a bit like security at an airport.
In the Disneyland Parc, there are 5 main areas but only 4 or the 5 main areas have rides and or shows.
Discoveryland
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
This is one of my favourite Disney rides of all time, I get really competitive on this rides. It is the same ride system as the Orlando version of this ride. I prefer the Paris version as the laser blasters are handheld which makes it easier to get point in my opinion. I normally get around 52,000 points. The maximum wait time I have seen for this ride is 60 mins.
Autopia
This is another one of my favourite rides in any Disney park, this ride is by all accounts similar to the Disneyland Calfornia version. You drive a car around a race course but I think that the cars drive better in Paris than Orlando. The maximum wait time I have seen for this ride is 35 mins
Fantasyland
It's A Small World
This ride is a classic and an absolute must ride for anyone visiting a Disney park. This ride is a boat ride that takes you through different countries. I love the ride more so for the song. However much I love this ride it can see that the Paris version is in desperate need of refurb it is a great ride don't get me wrong it's just that a few animatronics need some fixing.
Blanche- Neige et les Sept Nains
This is Paris's version of the Snow White ride in Disneyland California. I love this ride more so because I love the film but it can be scary for younger children so I would bear that in mind as it features a lot of the Evil Queen and the Old Hag, which I love as I am a huge Disney Villian fan. This ride is a ride through the film you are in a track ride vehicle.
Les Voyages De Pinocchio
This ride is the Paris version of the Pinocchio ride in Disneyland California. I do love this ride for similar reasons as to why I love the Snow White ride I do like the film and the characters in the film which helped me to love this ride more. his ride is a ride through the film you are in a track ride vehicle.
Adventureland
Pirates Of The Caribbean
This ride is the same as any other Pirates ride in the majority of Disney parks but I thought the Paris version was a lot more thrilling than the Disney World version, therefore, I much prefer it but I have always loved the Paris version of Pirates.
Frontierland
Big Thunder Mountain
I am not normally a fan of roller coasters but I can handle family coasters as they are not ot intense. I also have never normally been a fan of this ride but this trip I seemed to go on this ride with no fear. I put this down to watching vlogs of peoples Disney trip as they normally vlog themselves on this ride and I watch them ride it through a screen and I read online that watching videos can help eliminate some fear.
Parades and Fireworks
As well as the rides there are shops and shows. I would recommend both the fireworks show and parade. the Fireworks show Illuminations is amazing with its use of water effects, fireworks and castle projections and is a great show to watch but Star Wars A Galactic Spectacular in Hollywood Studios in Orlando is still my favourite firework show. Also, the 25th-anniversary parade called Disney Stars on Parade is well worth a watch and it is my favourite parade I have seen so far. If you love Frozen then this parade is a must watch even if you are not a Frozen fan this parade is still worth watching. In my opinion, you cannot visit a Disney park without seeing a parade.
Also the 2 castle shows, the princess waltz and the happy birth day mickey show are also both worth a watch as they are two of the best diseny shwos i have ever seen.
What Not To Do?
Advice that some of you may take the hard way do not wait in a queue that is over 90 minutes long as the wait time will only increase instead why not go on a ride that is a 5-20 minute wait and come back to the other later.
There weren't any rides that I would miss out on as for medical reasons I was able to go on all of the rides.
That was my take on the Disneyland Parc in Disneyland Paris. Stay tuned for my take on the Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris.
