D23Expo Ride News for WDW
D23Expo was this weekend and my gosh did the parks and resorts team treat us well this year it was ride after ride after ride and all of the rides being bigger and better than ever. In the year 2021, it will be the 50th anniversary of WDW so the amazing parks and resorts team gave us an insight as to what new rides and ride enhancements WDW will be getting in the run up to the 50th anniversary of the WDW. Let's look at each individual park.
Magic Kingdom
There is going to be a theatre built near the town hall this is a great piece of news as WDW is great when it comes to putting on amazing shows, it is still unconfirmed as to what show this is going to be and what it will be based around.
There were no new announcements for Fantasyland, Adventureland or Frontierland. However, there was a huge announcement for Tomorrowland.
Tomorrowland will be getting the Tron Lightcycle Coaster the same ride that is already at Shanghai Disneyland. This was some of the best news ever although I myself was not at D23 I watched someone who live streamed the panel and the crowd erupted as this is going to be a huge addition to Tomorrowland. This new Tron ride will be located behind Space Mountain.
Animal Kingdom
This park by the sounds of things is going to be left untouched as they have only recently opened Pandora The World Of Avatar so it would seem stupid to do any thing else to this park as other parks need some much deserved TLC.
Hollywood Studios
They told us that Toy Story Land will open next summer which will hopefully bring more guests to this park.
Also, we were told the official name for Star Wars land it is going to be called Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. If any of you were a fan of Rex from the old Star Tours then you will love his new job as DJ in the Cantina. I personally am not a huge Star Wars fan but I am glad to see them bring back a parks legend.
Also, The Great Movie Ride is closing its doors on August 13 of this year as Disney's license with TCM has come to an end. Never fear a new ride is taking over, this ride is called Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. I am so excited for this attraction as it is Disney's first ever ride based around the fab 5.
EPCOT
Don't worry EPCOT is still here IPCOT is not a thing yet.
EPCOT is receiving the most attention in the next few years. The universe of Energy is closing its doors this year some say it is the date as The Great Movie Ride but I have not seen a firmly fixed date yet. It is going to get a replacement ride themed around Guardians of the Galaxy, it will not be the same ride that can be seen in DCA at Disneyland but it will be a whole new attraction this could be one of the first things to open as they are not getting rid of the Universe of Energy building.
Mission Space will be getting a new mission for it's green less intense version, now you will be able to take a trip to Mars. This will be open at the end of the summer. Also the old Wonders Of Life building will becoming a Mission Space themed restaurant.
In the world showcase there is going to be some huge expansion to the France pavillion as it will be getting the ever popular Rataoullie ride that can be found in the Studios park of Disneyland Paris. The ride will create a whole new area situated behind the Eiffel Tower. Also a new film will be coming to the Reflections of China show in the Chinese Pavillion.
I am so excited to see that EPCOT is getting a well deserved makeover and I am excited to see all these news rides.
