Disney's Hollywood Studios

Here we are again back for more Disney adventures today we are going to be talking about Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Arrival 

There is no ferryboat or monorail to this park like there is at Magic Kingdom so if you are staying at a Disney Hotel then you will have to get a Disney bus to the park. If you are driving then there is plenty of parking at Hollywood Studios and the parking area is next to the entrance to the park.

As with all theme parks you have to go through a security check and finger print check upon entry.

You enter into the main walkway of the Hollywood Studios where there are places to eat and plenty of shops.

There are no individual areas in this park and it is a small park compared to the other parks so it makes for a slightly more relaxed park experience.

Now I am going to list the must do Rides and or Shows in the park.

Frozen A Sing-A-Long Celebration

For any Frozen lover like myself you will absolutely love this sing-a-long show. You are told the story of Frozen with 2 very funny hosts you sing songs such as Let It Go, In Summer e.c.t. This is one of the best shows at Disney Land.

Toy Story Mania

This is without doubt my favorite Disney ride. It is somewhat similar to the buzz ride in concept but they in other ways could not be worlds apart. You’re in a square pod box type of a deal and you have a toy gun attached to your vehicle. In this ride you complete various games and there are numbers on the various targets in the mini-games that tell you how much points they are worth. This is a ride that the whole family is going to enjoy.

The Great Movie Ride

If you are a fan of classic MGM movies then this is the ride for you. This was my sort of ride as you were in this big cart traveling through films such as Mary Poppins, Singing In The Rain and Wizard Of OZ. You have a guide for this tour of the classic MGM movies and I must say they have really impressive acting skills.

Meet Olaf In Person

This isn’t a ride or a show it’s a character meet and greet the line for this tends to be around 10 to 15 minutes. You walk in and meet Olaf what is not to like, they also have a summer themed back drop which added to the experience. I am a big Frozen fan so I wanted to include this character meet and greet. There is no set times for meeting Olaf from what I know he is there intermittently.

Along with these rides, shows and character meet and greets there is the evening fireworks. These fireworks in my opinion are the best fireworks, show Disney has to offer. The firework show is called Star Wars A Galactic Spectacular. This show is very clever with the use of colored lights and fireworks and sound effects to make you think you are a part of a Star Wars film.

What Rides Are Worthy Of A Fast Pass?

I would fast pass both the Frozen Sing-A-Long and the Toy Story Mania ride, the Frozen show does not have long queues but you get to go to your seat first so you can find a good seat to see the show and with the Toy Story Mania ride it tends to have around 60-80 minute queues and it is one of the best rides at Disney so it is worth fast passing. 

What Not To Do?

Do not wait in a queue that is over 90 minutes long as the wait time will only increase instead why not go on a ride that is a 5-20 minute wait and come back to the other later.

Also this is a very small park so you do not want to be there early you should book your fast passes and arrive in the afternoon so you can do the rides and shows and then the fireworks.
